McElroy has expanded their TracStar® iSeries machines family, adding two incredible machines, the TracStar® 412i and TracStar® 618i. These machines are built on the strong legacy of the existing TracStar 630i, 900i, and 1200i units, bringing superior technology into the field.
The TracStar 412i is designed to fuse pipe sizes from 4-inch IPS to 12-inch DIPS. In contrast, the TracStar 618i caters to pipe sizes ranging from 6-inch IPS to 18-inch OD. Both machines reflect McElroy’s unwavering commitment to improving operator productivity.
These upgraded machines showcase exciting differences compared to their Series 2 counterparts. They integrate the FusionGuide™ Control system, offering operators three control levels during the fusion process. This ranges from manual control to fully automatic fusion, allowing operators to select the level of assistance they prefer.
The revamped design also introduces an ingenious indexer. This feature simplifies operations by condensing the heater, facer, and jaws into a unified unit. The indexer slides side to side along a set of rails for flexible positioning.
Additionally, the indexer has a built-in stripping and release mechanism. Once the heat soak phase ends and the carriage opens, the mechanism automatically strips the heater from the pipe ends. The indexer then pulls back the heater from the fusion area.
The new machines boast an enhanced design symbolizing their inclusion in the TracStar iSeries family. The appeal isn't just visual, a new, larger-volume hydraulic tank is secured beneath the machine. This element cools the machine and decreases the probability of any accidental wrong fluid addition.
TracStar 412i and 618i machines will be controlled via McElroy's rugged DataLogger® tablet, which records fusion parameters and other vital data during the fusion process. This feature promotes transparency and accountability in operator performances.
